In Tuesday's league game, the host Centralia Panthers baseball team scored a tight 12-5 victory over the Highland Cougars.

The Cougars (1-6) will now prepare for their game against Clark County (Kahoka, MO). The Indians go into the Clarence Cannon game with a 1-3 record. In their last game, Clark County tipped Putnam County (Unionville, MO), 4-1, in a non-league game.

Centralia used two big innings to beat Highland 12-5 in the conference opener for the Cougars. Chandler Kovar hit a 2-run home run to contribute to a 6 run, 7 hit first inning. The Cougars scored 1 in the 3rd on an RBI single by Cody Wilkens. The rest of the Cougar bats finally came to life in the 4th as the Cougars sent 8 batters to the plate. The highlights of the inning were a 2 run single by Jonathan Boyer and a 2 run double by Ryan Waterman. In the bottom of the 4th, Centralia took advantage of a couple errors and put 6 runs up. The highlaight for them was a 3 run home run by Austin Wells. The Cougars were led offensively by Boyer's 3 hits and 2 RBI's, Jack Neisen, Cody Wilkens, and Dalton Sparks with 2 hits each.
