Octavia Lowery has been named player of the year. "Octavia Lowery is a game changer. She is our point guard, can shoot from 25 feet, is exceptionally strong and can be very explosive off the dribble. She made 10 three pointers in our January 20 game against Cabool. Her game high for the season was 39 and this was accomplished in Sectionals against South Iron (she scored 31 or more in five separate games). Octavia was named to the All-District 4 Team, (she had a double/double in all three district games), All tournament team in Koshkonong Tournament and the Big Spring Conference Tournament, and averaged 27.25 points per game in the three district games and our sectional game. She was named White River Conference MVP and is tied for 6th or higher on 4 separate Missouri State Single Game scoring records. You will be hard pressed to find a player that sees the floor better or is a better passer in the state. She had a total of 148 rebounds, 93 steals, and scored 584 points on the season, with 1789 career varsity points."
