Centralia Panthers (Centralia, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Highland Cougars (Ewing, MO), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Father Tolton for a Class 2 District 8 challenge on Thursday, September 6.

With the loss, Highland falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Brookfield (Brookfield, MO) to battle the Bulldogs in a Class 2 District 16 challenge on Thursday, September 6. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Brookfield lost 8-3 in their recent league challenge against Macon (Macon, MO)
