Moberly Spartans (Moberly, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marshall Owls (Marshall, MO), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pilot Grove for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 15. Moberly will face a Tigers squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Sturgeon (Sturgeon, MO). The Tigers record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Marshall falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Owls travel to Hannibal (Hannibal, MO) to face the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 15.
