The Myrtle Hawks crushed the visiting Blue Mountain Cougars baseball team by a count of 8-1 in Friday's league bout.

The Hawks now possess a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Thrasher for a non-league bout on Monday, March 21. Myrtle will face a Rebels team coming off a 10-9 non-league loss to Vina (Vina, AL). The Rebels record now stands at 3-6.

Next, the Cougars face the Jumpertown Cardinals (Booneville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 19. Blue Mountain will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Cardinals enter the bout with a 0-3 record after their 21-1 non-league loss to Pine Grove (Ripley, MS).
