The Panthers now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Meridian for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 14. Quitman will clash with a Wildcats team coming off a 19-2 non-league win over East Marion (Columbia, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-2.

With the defeat, Newton falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Leake Central (Carthage, MS) to confront the Gators in a non-league contest on Friday, February 13. The Gators come into the contest with a record of 0-0.
