The Hickory Flat Rebels basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Walnut Wildcats to 46 in the Rebels non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Rebels now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashland for a 1A Region 2 contest on Friday, January 13. Hickory Flat will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 83-77 non-league win over Center Hill (Olive Branch, MS). The Blue Devils record now stands at 13-4.

The Wildcats (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Mantachie (Mantachie, MS). The Mustangs come into the 2A Region 1 contest with a 4-12 record. In their last contest, Mantachie edged Hatley (Amory, MS), 53-48, in a non-league contest.
