The Walnut Wildcats basketball team scored 71 points and restricted the visiting Myrtle Hawks to 48 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Saturday.

The Wildcats now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Belmont for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 12. Walnut will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 60-30 non-league loss to New Site (Booneville, MS). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-5.

The Hawks (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against West Union (Myrtle, MS). The Eagles come into the 1A Region 2 contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, West Union triumphed over Falkner (Falkner, MS), 49-37, in a league contest.
