Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kossuth Aggies (Kossuth, MS), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 11-9 record. They take the field next when they host Booneville for a 3A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 17. Belmont will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 9-8 non-league win over Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS). The Blue Devils record now stands at 12-7.

With the loss, Kossuth falls to 15-11 on the campaign. The Aggies host Tupelo (Tupelo, MS) to face the Golden Wave in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 19. The Golden Wave enter the challenge with a record of 3-15.
