The Petal Panthers softball team (Petal, MS), was tipped 2-1 in Thursday's league test with the visiting George County Rebels (Lucedale, MS)

Coming up next, the Rebels clash with the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) in a non-league test, on Saturday, March 23. George County will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 9-2 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS).

The Panthers (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Warriors come into the 6A Region 5 test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Oak Grove edged Meridian (Meridian, MS), 16-0, in a league test.
