In Thursday's league test, the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) softball team routed the host Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS), by a margin of 12-1.

The Panthers now sport a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northwest Rankin for a 7A Region 3 outing on Tuesday, April 7. Petal will encounter a Cougars team coming off a 10-3 league win over Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 19-5.

With the loss, Meridian moves to 9-10 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Russell Christian Academy (Meridian, MS) to encounter the Warriors in a non-league outing on Monday, April 6. The Warriors come into the outing with a record of 6-5. Russell Christian Academy won 16-5 in their recent non-league test against Starkville Christian (Starkville, MS)
