Mason Kosik has been named player of the year. "Mason was the heart and soul of this Vikings team. He finished his senior campaign second on the team in points (80), first in assists (46), and tied for fourth in goals (17). His assist total ranked second in the state, regardless of classification, and was the fourth highest season total ever in the state of NC. Though his contributions and importance to the team went way beyond his statistics. He directed the offense flawlessly, and his skills and knowledge of the game made every player around him better. He was again a unanimous choice as captain, and was an example both on and off the field for his teammates. His dedication and work ethic were second to none. He was All-Region for the fourth straight year, and was named to the NC All-State team. We believe he was one of the best midfielders in the state of NC for 2018."
