    Sara Fanani has been named player of the year. "Sara Fanani was selected "Player of the Year" for the Ocracoke team. As a Senior, Sara provided the spark the young Ocracoke team needed in many of the games. She was an exceptional point guard with impeccable ball handling skills. In many of the games her opponents would double and triple team her to keep her from scoring, but to no avail she averaged 15-16 points a game. Sara scored 230 points on the season and was outstanding on defense. Sara broke the "All Time Single Game Scoring Record for Ocracoke" with 34 points against Washington Montessori. She truly was an asset to the team and shared her skills with other teammates."
