Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) and the host Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), saw Franklin's soccer squad triumph over Highlands by a count of 7-0.

The Panthers (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC). The Eagles enter the Mountain Seven 3A battle with a 3-5 record. In their last battle, East Henderson was overwhelmed by Christ School (Arden, NC), 9-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Highlanders battle the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A battle, on Monday, September 16. Highlands will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Braves enter the battle with a 0-2 record after their 9-0 league loss to Murphy (Murphy, NC).
