Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), 12-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Swain County for a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Friday, March 22. Murphy will face a Maroon Devils squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Cherokee falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC) to face the Yellowjackets in a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Hayesville lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC)
