Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) and the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), witnessed Murphy's softball squad prevail over Cherokee by a count of 16-3.

The Bulldogs now sport a 6-0 record. They play next when they travel to Smoky Mountain for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 3. Murphy will meet a Mustangs squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Cherokee moves to 0-6 on the season. The Braves travel to Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC) to meet the Black Knights in a Smoky Mountain 1A match on Friday, April 5. The Black Knights go into the match with a record of 7-2. Robbinsville won 17-3 in their recent non-league match against Copper Basin (Copperhill, TN)
