The Newton-Conover Red Devils softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Hickory Red Tornadoes to 5 in the Red Devils non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, Newton-Conover moves its record to 5-0 on the year. The Red Devils travel to Maiden (Maiden, NC) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Southern Dist 7 2A game on Friday, March 11. The Blue Devils come into the game with a record of 2-3. Maiden won 7-3 in their recent non-league game against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC)

In their next game, the Red Tornadoes clash with the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A game, on Thursday, March 10. Hickory will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Patriots come into the game with a 3-1 record after their 12-5 league loss to Foard (Newton, NC).
