The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) and the visiting Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC), saw Murphy's softball squad achieve victory over Highlands by a count of 24-0.

The Bulldogs now sport a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robbinsville for a Smoky Mountain match on Thursday, May 8. Murphy will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Highlands falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to Rosman (Rosman, NC) to face the Tigers in a Smoky Mountain match on Thursday, May 8. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 3-14. Rosman lost 5-2 in their recent league match against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC)
