The Morehead Panthers routed the visiting McMichael Phoenix softball squad by a final score of 8-2 in Friday's league battle.

The Panthers (13-1) will now prepare for their battle against Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC). The Eagles enter the 3A Mid-State outing with a 8-5 record. In their last outing, Eastern Alamance was routed by Western Alamance (Elon, NC), 11-2, in a league outing.

The Phoenix (5-9) will now prepare for their outing against Northern Guilford (Greensboro, NC). The Nighthawks enter the 3A Mid-State outing with a 6-7 record.

Fr. Pitcher Evie Scott gave up 2hits, 1 being a HR;however,she put away 12 batters of the 24 she faced with K's; The Lady Panthers gave up 2 throwing errors tonight, with a strong defense behind her the young pitcher was able to work her magic with 95 total pitches for the event. The Rifle also was 2for4 tonight leading her Solid Panthers. Soph. Samantha Hall was focused tonight with a true RBI triple along with two singles, along with E5-3. Jr. Kari Bingman had 2singles with 4 RBI's on each of the solid hits scoring twice for the Panthers .Senior 1st baseman Celina Jeffery was showing her bat speed with a single and a double, along with a BB, scoring once tonight. Soph. Chelsea Kirks, who is the Panthers EVERYWHERE PLAYER finished the night 2for4, scoring twice. The game was called at the beginning of the 7th due to weather.
