The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Kindred Vikings (Kindred, ND) and the visiting Devils Lake Firebirds (Devils Lake, ND), observed Kindred's basketball team edge Devils Lake by a score of 52-47.

The Vikings (20-1) will now prepare for their bout against Central Cass (Casselton, ND). The Squirrels go into the A Region 1 bout with a 6-13 record. In their last bout, Central Cass was edged by Lisbon (Lisbon, ND), 57-51, in a league bout.

With the loss, Devils Lake falls to 19-1 on the campaign. The Firebirds travel to Thompson (Thompson, ND) to play the Tommies in a A Region 2 bout on Friday, February 28. The Tommies go into the bout with a record of 14-5. Thompson won 60-47 in their recent league bout against Hillsboro/Central Valley (Buxton, ND)
