McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hampton Hawks (Hampton, NE), 69-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McCool Junction upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Mustangs host High Plains (Polk, NE) to clash with the Storm in a D1 District 3 bout on Friday, December 9. The Storm go into the bout with a record of 0-2. High Plains lost 53-40 in their recent non-league bout against Fullerton (Fullerton, NE)

Next up, the Hawks clash with the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets (Grand Island, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 8. Hampton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Red Hornets go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 51-7 non-league loss to St. Francis (Humphrey, NE).
