Howells Bobcats (Howells, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Stanton Mustangs (Stanton, NE), 74-65 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Howells upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Bobcats host West Point-Beemer (West Point, NE) to play the Cadets in a non-league bout on Friday, December 11. The Cadets come into the bout with a record of 0-1. West Point-Beemer lost 46-29 in their recent non-league bout against Arlington (Arlington, NE)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Wisner-Pilger Gators (Wisner, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 10. Stanton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Gators come into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 77-61 non-league win over Lutheran-Northeast (Norfolk, NE).
