In Friday's league outing, the McPherson County Longhorns (Tryon, NE) basketball squad beat the host Stapleton Broncos (Stapleton, NE), by a count of 47-39.

The Longhorns (1-12) will now prepare for their outing against Southwest (Bartley, NE). The Roughriders go into the non-league outing with a 10-6 record. In their last outing, Southwest was topped by Southern Valley (Oxford, NE), 60-46, in a league outing.

The Broncos now hold a 0-15 record. They play next when they travel to Sutherland for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 2. Stapleton will clash with a Sailors squad coming off a 67-62 non-league win over Kimball (Kimball, NE). The Sailors record now stands at 7-7.
