O'Neill Eagles (O'Neill, NE) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Plainview Pirates (Plainview, NE), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, O'Neill upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Eagles host Ord (Ord, NE) to clash with the Chanticleers in a C1 District 8 bout on Friday, February 9. The Chanticleers go into the bout with a record of 9-11. Ord won 62-45 in their recent non-league bout against Broken Bow (Broken Bow, NE)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Creighton Bulldogs (Creighton, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Plainview will attempt to upgrade on its 12-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-16 record after their 71-46 non-league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NE).
