Ord Chanticleers (Ord, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ponca Indians (Ponca, NE), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Chanticleers now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Grand Island Central Catholic for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 21. Ord will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over O'Neill (O'Neill, NE). The Crusaders record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Ponca falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Indians travel to O'Neill (O'Neill, NE) to battle the Eagles in a C District 5 challenge on Thursday, August 23. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-3.
