The Grace Davis Spartans will face off against the Ceres Bulldogs at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Grace Davis is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Grace Davis had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Modesto Christian on Tuesday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 12-4 victory.
Lukas Silva made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, David Apple looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Ceres' offense. They fell 5-0 to Downey on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Ceres saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Maines, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Grace Davis' win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Ceres, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grace Davis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ceres struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
