Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Butte Valley). They put the hurt on the Tulelake Honkers with a sharp 63-42 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Honkers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 54-40 loss.
Butte Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kohen Thomas led the charge by going 6 for 10 to rack up 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Butte Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points over those games. As for Tulelake, their record now sits at 11-11.
