Foothill has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Brea Olinda Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Foothill suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 55-32 defeat at the hands of El Dorado. Foothill has struggled against El Dorado recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Foothill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Paige Bak, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds, and Maleah Paige who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Paige has scored all season.
Foothill struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Meanwhile, Brea Olinda's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-41 to Esperanza. While losing is never fun, Brea Olinda can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Esperanza is ranked 40th).
Liz Han put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 17 points. Mariah Henderson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Brea Olinda, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.
Foothill suffered a grim 60-40 defeat to Brea Olinda in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Foothill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
