It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Washington Prexies ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 victory over Monessen. The victory was nothing new for Washington as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Leading Washington to victory were Kaprice Johnson and Olivia Woods. Johnson scored nine points, while Woods scored 14 points.
Monessen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Na'Jaziah Carter, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Carter hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. MyAsia Majors was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 14 rebounds.
Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Monessen, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.
Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monessen, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Charleroi at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Monessen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
