Tri-Valley and Williams Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Williams Valley Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Tri-Valley suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 55-23 loss at the hands of Tamaqua. While losing is never fun, Tri-Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 648th, while Tamaqua is ranked 259th).
Despite their loss, Tri-Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Avery Miller, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Grace Header, who scored seven points.
Even though Williams Valley has not done well against Marian Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Williams Valley came out on top against Marian Catholic by a score of 42-29. Williams Valley pushed the score to 29-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Marian Catholic cut but never quite recovered from.
Tri-Valley's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Williams Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Tri-Valley came up short against Williams Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 51-40. Can Tri-Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
