Heritage extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 10-4. Everything went their way against the Adairsville Tigers as they made off with a 13-4 win. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.
Bailee Hollis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Heritage let Paisley Collins and Molly Corvin run wild. Collins went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Corvin went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Landry White, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Heritage hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.
As for Adairsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since August 18th.
On Adairsville's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Roberts has brought in this season. Ansley Powell was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Wesleyan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Adairsville, they will face off against Gilmer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
