Softball Recap: Southland Academy Beats Crisp Academy for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Southland Academy extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 12-4. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Crisp Academy Wildcats. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

As for Crisp Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Crisp Academy's part, Ansley Simpson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Mary Margaret Gibbs also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Southland Academy will take on Terrell Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Crisp Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fitzgerald at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Purple Hurricane have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.21 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
