Softball Recap: Mcloud Beats Cleveland for Their Third Straight Victory

McLoud entered their tilt with Cleveland on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Redskins have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Elexias Patterson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Avery Soward and Taycee Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Soward went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Lewis went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Lane, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

McLoud hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.

McLoud's win bumped their record up to 20-7-1. As for Cleveland, they dropped their record down to 4-18 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, McLoud will challenge Tecumseh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Savages have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cleveland, they will square off against Inola at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
