The Woodlake Tigers will challenge the Strathmore Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Woodlake's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Strathmore has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Woodlake lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lindsay, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Tigers didn't even let the Cardinals on the board on Tuesday, marking the Tigers' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.
Guillermo Rosales made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor Bates, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David Flores, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Strathmore never let their opponents score on Monday. They skirted past Laton 1-0. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Woodlake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Strathmore, their win bumped their record up to 4-7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woodlake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Strathmore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Woodlake was able to grind out a solid victory over Strathmore when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
