The West Shores Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Desert Chapel Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Shores has three straight wins, the Eagles have six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
West Shores scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Calexico Mission on the road to the tune of 57-6. West Shores has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Anastacia Garth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of West Shores' points. Nayeli Acosta was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Desert Chapel suffered a tough 33-9 loss at the hands of the RAMS last Tuesday.
West Shores has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Desert Chapel, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for West Shores against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 46-12 victory. Will West Shores repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
