Baseball Game Preview: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins vs. Kennedy Eagles

For the second straight game, St. Patrick-St. Vincent will face off against Kennedy. The Bruins will face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Patrick-St. Vincent will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, St. Patrick-St. Vincent got the win against Kennedy by a conclusive 11-1. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent got a great performance from Dominic Petersen as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, St. Patrick-St. Vincent let Jaden Dichoco and Mathew Thacker run wild. Dichoco scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Thacker scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Dichoco a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Mendez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
