Sonoma Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Technology on Monday. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 19-1 victory. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Sean Stroud looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Sam Tyko was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Proctor, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Sonoma Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Sonoma Academy, bringing their record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Technology, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season.

Sonoma Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Technology, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calistoga at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
