Northeastern is 2-8 against Eastern York since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Northeastern Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eastern York Golden Knights at 7:30 p.m. Northeastern is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Even though Northeastern has not done well against West York Area recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northeastern secured a 54-50 W over West York Area. Given Northeastern's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while West York Area is ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northeastern got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Bush out in front who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals. Bush has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Davis, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Eastern York scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Kennard-Dale 53-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastern York.
Northeastern's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for Eastern York, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Northeastern against Eastern York when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 50-19 win. Does Northeastern have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eastern York turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
