Brunswick came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Evans Knights a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brunswick pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Evans, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
