There's no place like home for the Vista Murrieta Broncos, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past Chaparral with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Vista Murrieta also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Vista Murrieta had a senior duo take command as Alyson Pulsipher scored 18 points along with four steals and Kohen Marshall scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Marshall continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Smith, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Chaparral saw an underclassman step up: Zetta Faasua scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Faasua is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Myla Igoe was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Vista Murrieta's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Chaparral, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vista Murrieta will face off against Temecula Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chaparral, they will head out on the road to take on Murrieta Mesa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Murrieta Mesa is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
