Mead has gone 7-1 against Longmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. Mead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Mead needed a bit of extra time to put away Fairview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights, sneaking past 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mavericks have posted since August 22nd.
Rosie Robuck made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Halie Gippe and Zoey Hawkinson did most of the damage at the plate: Gippe went 4-for-6 with three runs and one RBI, while Hawkinson went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave Gippe a new career-high. Ari Tovar was another key player, getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Longmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Holy Family, falling 11-4.
Alex McGregor was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
The win snapped Mead's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-10 record. As for Longmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15-1.
Longmont's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mead has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Longmont, though, as they've been averaging 10.1 hits. Given Mead's sizable advantage in that area, the Trojans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mead took their victory against Longmont in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
