The Highlands Scots will challenge the Sacramento Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Highlands' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Sacramento has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Highlands barely beat Sacramento Country Day the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Scots never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. Fans of the Scots have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Carlos Lopez-Vega and Najee Walker did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez-Vega went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Walker went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Walker has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Sacramento and Johnson, and Johnson kept the tradition alive. The Dragons took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors last Friday.
Sacramento saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malcolm Ruvalcaba, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Kaden Saelee was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Sacramento's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Highlands has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 14.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sacramento struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Highlands suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Sacramento when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Will the Scots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
