On Thursday, the La Salle Lancers faced the Bishop Montgomery Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. La Salle fell 59-52 to Bishop Montgomery. It was the first time this season that La Salle let down their fans at home.
La Salle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Audrey Chen, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Erica Fan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
La Salle's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-2. As for Bishop Montgomery, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing St. Mary's Academy the next time they take the court. La Salle will head out to face St. Mary's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bishop Montgomery will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
