Everything went the Cardinals' way against the Independence 76ers as they made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Cardinals have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Isaiah Arroyo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Bryan Lopez Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Pena, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.
