The Hampton Talbots entered their tilt with the Mars Fightin' Planets with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Hampton walked away with a 54-42 win over Mars on Monday. This was payback for Hampton, who suffered a 54-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Mars' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Cashdollar, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Day, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Mars, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.
Hampton will head out on the road to face off against Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Mars will take on Fox Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
