Cheek has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jenna Miller, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Medicine Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Stella Heapy. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 46.2% of Medicine Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Rose, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Maxwell's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Medicine Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
Maxwell's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hemingford at 5:00 p.m. on February 12th. Maxwell is facing Hemingford at the right time seeing as Hemingford is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Medicine Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brady at 6:15 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Medicine Valley is ranked 183rd, while Brady is ranked 184th).
