Baseball Recap: Ceres Wins Going Away Against Grace Davis

Ceres barely beat Grace Davis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 11-3 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Vincent Castrejon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Castrejon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aiden Maines, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Daniel Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Ceres' record now sits at 17-7. As for Grace Davis, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10.

Ceres wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-0 win against Delhi on the 24th. As for Grace Davis, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Orland on the 24th.
