The Central Valley Falcons will be playing at home against the Corning Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Central Valley had to suffer through a rough 63-35 loss at the hands of Willows. Central Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Vincent Vanpal, who scored 17 points. He scored a full 48.6% of Central Valley's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Sanderson, who scored 11 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Corning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-38 to Red Bluff.
Orland's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Central Valley's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Central Valley came up short against Corning in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 50-41. Can Central Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
