Indio has gone 9-1 against Twentynine Palms recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rajahs will square off against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indio has four straight wins, Twentynine Palms has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Indio beats Twentynine Palms with 19 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Rajahs blew past Yucca Valley 19-7 on Thursday. With that victory, the Rajahs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Zackary Muniz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Julian Mandujano was a standout: he scored three runs while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Indio: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jesse Arreola, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Indio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Twentynine Palms came up short against Coachella Valley on Thursday and fell 6-2.
Anthony Escandon was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Indio pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Twentynine Palms, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Indio has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Twentynine Palms struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Indio took their win against Twentynine Palms when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Rajahs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
