The Kerman Lions will venture away from home to  take on the El Diamante Miners  at 3:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Kerman will be strutting in after a  victory while El Diamante will be coming in after a  defeat.
Kerman's tournament run continued when they took on Liberty  on Friday. Kerman walked away with  a   6-3  win over Liberty. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Lions.
 Max Ramirez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Ramirez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Steven Luna was  excellent,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Kerman  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .533. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, El Diamante fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Clovis East  on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of  5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  loss the Miners have suffered  since April 10, 2024.
Like Kerman, El Diamante also got a great game from a two-way player:  Colin Horton. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. What's more,  Horton gave up only one  walk, the fewest he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  hits (three).
 Horton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jordan Rhyner, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 El Diamante's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kerman, their record is now 2-0.
